Doc Edge Fest hosting Iran’s ‘Copper Notes of a Dream’

The Doc Edge Fest in New Zealand is hosting ‘Copper Notes of a Dream’.

The Doc Edge Festival in New Zealand has been hosting the documentary feature ‘Copper Notes of a Dream’.

Directed by Reza Farahmand and produced by Morteza Shabani, the doc is in competition at the 15th edition of the event.

It tells the story of Mallouk, a ten year old boy who collects the copper wire along with his friends.

They pick them up from the houses that have been demolished during the war.

They sell what they collect in order to pursue a childhood dream.

Although the city is in ruins and the number of residents is limited so they might not have enough audience, their biggest passion and dream is to give a concert someday.

‘Copper Notes of a Dream’ has already attended a number of international film events, including the Asia Pacific Screen Awards in Australia and the Olympia International Film Festival for Children and Young People in Greece.

Being among the main winners at the International Documentary Film Festival Munich in Germany and winning the Best Documentary Film Director at the Olympia International Film Festival for Children and Young People in Greece are some of the honors gained by the flick.

Launched in 2005, the Doc Edge Festival has been a platform to showcase international documentaries and docs from New Zealand to provide independent and important view of the world.

All the selected docs of this year’s festival are available to the event’s audiences online over the pandemic of coronavirus.

The festival launched on June 12 and will run until July 5, 2020.
